WHEN I HAD STARTED READ LYRICS, I UNCOVER FOR MYSELF THAT LYRICS
FILLED WITH SADNESS, MELANCHOLIC DESPAIR , EMOTIONAL SUFFOCATION AND
PURE HATE. I REMEMBERED LYRICS OF ANATHEMA-SERENADES/SILENT ENIGMA
AND MY DYING BRIDE. TRAGIC THEMES SURROUND LISENER WITH DARK
SORROWFULL ATMOSPHERE WITH ALMOST SUICIDE APPROACH. I SURE THIS IS
LYRICAL MASTERPIECE AND THIS CD WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU. MUSIC IS
PURE DEATH METAL WITH SLOW AND FAST TEXTURES.
In 1991 two bands (Mindriot & Aphrodisiac) decided to join forces
and start a new band together. The line-up was: Ted Jonsson - drums,
Joni Mдensivu - vocals, Petri Tarvainen - guitar and Ted
Lundstrцm - bass. Shortly after Daniel Dziuba joined the band
as the 2:nd guitarist. In december 1992 they got into studio Lagret
and recorded a 3-song demo to see what they could accomplish and the
result was better than expected. A few months later Ted Lundstrцm
left the band to join Amon amarth and Martin Wiklander took his
place in the band. Due to the line-up change the demo never got
released.
Almost a year after, in october 1993, the band entered studio Lagret
again and recorded the 5-song demo "Art of darkness". The response
was good and they started to get a name in the under-ground scene.
Already at this point, Eternal oath had wandered off the traditional
death metal -genre and started to create their own path. Daniel
Dziuba got replaced with Peter Nagy (also featuring in Hypocrite,
1994 gryning).
In february 1994 they entered studio Montezuma and recorded a 3-song
promotion tape and started to send it to record companies in Sweden.
Two months later they received an answer from "Rat pack records",
who offered to release a mcd with them.
March 1995 Eternal oath entered the studio Lagret and in april the
mcd "So silent" was recorded. A year later "Rat pack records" still
hadn't manage to release the mcd due to financial problems. Tired of
waiting Eternal oath broke their contract with "Rat pack records"
and released the mcd on their own. "So silent" saw daylight in june
1996.
At this point Martin Wiklander had lost all his interest in the band
and decided to quit. In march 1997, after a few gigs as a session
member, Peter Wendin took his place. In march 1998 it was time to
enter the studio again. The fullenght album "Through the eyes of
hatred" was recorded in studio Sunlight.
