THE BAND WAS FORMED BY SUSAN GERL (GUITAR/ ADDITIONAL VOCALS) BUT DO NOT EXPECT TO HEAR A "BEAUTIFUL" FEMALE VOCALS AND GOTHIC (BORING ) SOUNDS (THAT MAKES ALL SICK VERY FAST) OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON THIS DISK. SHE FOUND OF AN EARLY CARCASS MUSIC. SO GOTHIC / BLACK METAL FANS / WORSHIPERS SHOULD AVOID THIS DISK (AND MY ZINE ) AS A PLAGUE OR AN EBOLA.
OK. WE HAVE HERE A FIRST GRIMPSE OF DESENSITISED (PRE- NAME IS CATAFALQUE). MCD HAS A VERY GOOD PRODUCTION, VERY BRUTAL AND ORIGINAL. IT'S DISTANTLY REMINDS ME OF SCROTUM GRINDER(USA), NASUM(SWE), INHUMATE (FRA), BUT NEVER MIND. BRAIN ANNIHILATING BLASTS, DUAL VOCAL ASSAULT AND RAZOR-LIKE GUITAR RIFFS - IS IT ENOUGH TO BUY THIS DISK? I THINK YES!!! WHAT , DO YOU WANT MORE? OK! : BRUTAL ,SOMETIMES CHAOTIC DEATH METAL WITH ELEMENTS OF FINE GRIND : 100% QUALITY, 100% MIND SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. THESE 7 BLASTS OF DEATH/GRIND CARNAGE WILL BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF AND MAKE YOUR EARS BLEEDS FOREVER!!! RECOMMENDED BY DEADWEBZINE, ENJOY!!!

DESENSITISED have been around since 2001. The band was not actually formed but evolved from the band CATAFALQUE, from which Susan (guitars/additional vocals), Steven (vocals) and Rutger (drums) had been previous members.

In July 2002 their first MCD “Thriving on carnage” was released by Dutch Bleedin’ Hemorrhoids records and was generally very well received in many magazines worldwide. “Thriving on carnage” contains seven songs of old-school death metal incorporating elements of grindcore.

In June 2003 DESENSITISED entered the studio again to record five new songs for their second release “Bought Beauty” These tracks were released as a split CD by Grodhaisn productions from the Czech Republic in June 2004. The band shot a video for the track “Black Gold” in cooperation with Lowlife desensitised - virus of violenceMedia.

After some major changes in their line-up the band seemed to have found the right chemistry in 2004 and started concentrating on writing new songs and playing live. DESENSITISED have played some successful gigs, amongst others with Arch Enemy, Suffocation, Pungent Stench, Master and Impaled Nazarene.

In February 2005 the band recorded their first full length CD entitled “Virus of violence”, which was released on Pathos Productions (USA) in July 2006.

In August 2006 bassist Jeroen was replaced by Raets who also played the bass on “Thriving on carnage”.

Line-up :
Wilbert: vocals
Susan: guitars / add. vocals
Martijn: drums
Raets: bass
