biography

Back in the early 90's there were a few Central Coast based metal bands getting around. Three of them being Tritura (with Lex, Thrax & Ozi), Dead Intent (with Jester) & Jumpathug (with Demented, who were also prominent on the Sydney circuit.) Then, Jumpathug went from packing venues to nothing over night. So Demented scanned the local paper & saw a vocalist wanted add. Rang it & it turned out to be Tritura. Demented joined, soon followed by the departure of Ozi. A mutual decision was made for Demented to drum as well as be lead vocalist. After a few months of rehearsals it was soon apparent that something was lacking, so all agreed to reform Jumpathug. More rehearsals & 2 gigs saw this as fruitless decision & again a change in name & direction was taken. Eternal Hate came to life & things started to look up. Several demo's were recorded & one abysmal self titled CD (where several of Aeturnus Dominion songs are featured). It was during this time Demented wrote the song Aeturnus Dominion.

Demented then joined a 2nd band called PAEN (with Rat & Ozi). Demented got in touch with Jester who hadn't fronted a band since Dead Intent broke up and asked if he wanted to give it a go, he did. Then in 1986 EH fell apart not long after shooting a video for the song, God Has Failed. Lex and Thrax both decided to give music up and try other things in life. PAEN meanwhile recorded many demo's and amassed over 70 original hard rock originals.
Then out of the blue Jester announced his departure (as he was moving away) & again things were in doubt. Demented took over vocals & from this a new band called Kronic (with Ozi, Rat & Demented) emerged. Kronic went on to play several Sydney gigs & record one demo. Then Jester happened to contact Demented to let him know he was back on the Coast & ask if we could reform PAEN. Needless to say several years later the band was still practicing every week with very little in the way of live performances.

Then in 2002 an industrial accident saw a sudden halt to everything. Demented suffered the permanent loss of fingers to his right hand. After months of rehabilitation, he picked up the guitar & started the arduous task of relearning to play. While doing so he wrote a few songs as therapy and once he felt confident with his playing, he contacted his previous band cohorts & asked if they would be keen to play some metal. Several months of rehearsals followed.

Late 2003 saw the addition of a 2nd guitarist when Spud joined making it a 5 piece.

2004 saw an increase in gigs as well as being placed in the Music Oz Awards top 10 Aussie metal/hardcore bands of the year for songs from their debut CD Semper Tyranis. 2005 saw a massive increase in live performances and all seemed to be going along smoothly. With the band's first out of state gigs lined up, Rat decided to call it a day. A week later Spud also left the band. With the daunting task of finding members to fill the void in time for the out of state gigs, Demented contacted former members of Eternal Hate to see if they were keen. Having seen the band recently they both decided to give it a go and joined completing what was to be a temporary line up. After just a few months Lex left to pursue his martial arts and previous member Spud rejoined on bass completing a very solid line up.
During the band's short existence they have managed to gather a decent sized fan base as well as recognition overseas. With a new CD called Psychotic due out and new material being written for a 3rd, things are looking up for Aeturnus Dominion. Aeturnus Dominion cover such topics as: suicide, global annihilation, war, death, murderers, solitude, suppression, child abuse, psychosis & mental illness and many other negative things that life seems to throw our way.
