UNREST were established in 1988 and in the first three years they recorded two demos and played several shows. In 1991 the Delta-Studio studio in Wilster was entered to record the debut album „Taste It“ which was released in 1992. In 1994 the 2nd longplayer „By the Light of the Moon“ was recorded and was out in early 1995. The first bigger shows were played together with bands like RAGE and SKYCLAD before they joined their first European tour with ICED EARTH and NEVERMORE. Following this tour the third album “Watch Out was produced at Osterholz-Scharmbeck. In 1997 the UNREST/SCANNER European tour followed ending with a sold-out Italian show. In the same year the band went on tour with W.A.S.P. and afterwards with SINNER. Just in the for the bands 10-year anniversary in 1998 the fourth output “Cold Steel Whisper“ was out in the stores and UNREST performed on the Wacken Open Air in the same year. In 1999 the “Restless And Live“ album was done followed by the new studio album “Bloody Voodoo Night“ which was released in 2001. Following the album the band was able to join DIO and SINNER on the European tour. Afterwards some problems in the line up could not be solved anymore and the band was put the a rest. The year 2004 was set to remark the rebirth of UNREST with the three founding members Sцnke, Claus and Guido being accompanied by the two new members Andre Neuhaus (bass) and Marco Liedtke (guitars). With a huge number of national and international shows in 2006 the UNREST guys impressingly returned at stages. Where the “wolves” appear there’s party! With “Back to the Roots” for the first time the band was able to catch their enormous live-power on studio albums! “Back to the Roots” – the title’s more than a promise: With tracks like “Bang Your Head” UNREST give tribute to their loyal fans being with them for all the years. “Go to hell” goes to all the unbelievers of the band and “Breaking the Chains” delivers the message of the band leaving their past behind and exploring new shores. Next to the charismatic vocals by Sцnke Lau it is remarkable that guitarist Claus is proving himself as vocalist on „We will Rock“ and „Burning Desire“ doing an excellent shop. All in all the band never been better than on „Back to the Roots“!
