Afgrund was started in February ’06 in Uppsala, Sweden under slightly miserable conditions by Baier, Olle and Pat (from bands such as 21 Lucifers, Mareridden, Vi (ex-Clean Shade of Dirty), Penile Suffocation, Avsmak etc).

1½ month later the 5-track demo CD “Hjärtslag och Djupa Andetag” (“Heartbeats and Deep Breaths”) was recorded. The demo CD received a lot of good response and 1½ month later we got contacted by polish label Lifestage Productions to sign for an album or two.

In autumn 2006 drummer Olle Ferner decided to quit the band due to a lack of interest, instead he will continue playing with his other band Enemy Is Us. We wish him all the best.

After completing the "Grind Tour de Pologne VI" in Poland with 17-year-old stand-in drummer Panu Posti from finnisg hc-grind band Büfo we decided to keep him. He's an amazing drummer and we welcome him to the band!

Upcoming in early spring and early summer... Split album with a yet undecided band and fullength debut album.
