Wolfgang Rothbauer (mastermind of Thirdmoon, lead-guitar in Eisblut)
It was thought as a project for his own emotional expressions concerning music
and personal life opinions, but after the exit of Johannes Jungreithmeier “IN
SLUMBER” became a band with rave notices both from fans and critics.
The underground-debut album “Stillborn Rebirth” has been released in 2003; a
clear emotional hatework! The embracing of melancholy, aggression and beautiful
accoustic parts established IN SLUMBER, after a very short time.
After destroying the stage on concerts and festivals, played with high-energy
performance, that impressed both the audience & press “IN SLUMBER” was busy
writing new songs and entered the studio for their new album.
2007: IN SLUMBER return with a new hatework: “Scars: Incomplete”.
The Massacre Records debut features eleven songs, which shows the band from a
slower but heavier edge, with more panzer-like groove, catchy choruses and more
variety of vocal and guitar arrangements.
The provoking and profound lyrics describe – in a metaphoric and symbolic way –
monologues of a fictive human wreck. The lyrical concept enfolds the dedication
to hurt oneself.
Responsible for the production are two well known producers: Peter “Ziggy”
Siegfredsen (Illdisposed, Mercenary,…) and Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Mnemic, Sick
of it All,…)
The style of IN SLUMBER is a smart and emotional mixture of
old-school-melodic-death-metal, melodic but brutal Metalcore and melancholic
Dark Metal.
