OK fellow scumbags check this out. From the gutters of downtown Los Angeles to the back bone rhythm section of the original Agent Steel comes OBSCENE GESTURE. That’s right, Chuck Profus and George Robb of Agent Steel fame have teamed up with L.A.’s original GUTTERTHUG Guy Green and Vince Dennis of Body Count/Steel Prophet to bring old school thrash metal back from the streets. And as of Dec. 2007, Juan Garcia of Agent Steel, has rounded out the line-up. OLD SCHOOL IS FUCKING BACK!!! Chuck and Guy have had this insane punk metal project on the backburners for way too long a time and it’s finally ready to be unleashed. One of the true reasons for the reformation of Agent Steel back in 1999 was that Juan Garcia was playing bass in a band with Chuck and Guy, when it was called Buel 36, but that’s a whole different story…. Since the release of the demo they have been working hard to find the right musicians to make OBSCENE GESTURE a reality. And in April 2006, George Robb (Agent Steel, L.S.N. & Dйtente) and Vinsident Dennis (Body Count & Steel Prophet) has official got the line-up filled. And who better! Chuck and Guy have been playing and writing songs together off and on for the last ten years. Guy Green was actually once part of Agent Steel’s L.A. road crew back in the 1980’s. The two, along with some friends, recorded a six-song demo during Halloween 2005, with Vince Simpson (of the old school 80’s band Tormentor) playing all the leads. People say the band sounds like, if you take Slayer/S.O.D./Agnostic Front/D.R.I. and put them in a meat grinder, you get OBSCENE GESTURE! The band is simply trying to bring back that Old School Thrash/Punk Metal back to you, and the future…. At the end of 2006 the band went into the studio with L.A. producer Rob Hill (Cypress Hill, Powerman5000, Tourettes, Agent Steel) and recorded a full length album. The new CD is titled “Living In Profanity”. It features 21 blazing tracks! In June 2007 we officially signed a deal with Xtreem Music (www.xtreemmusic.com) out of Spain and the debut album will be released worldwide August 2007. Available by mail order, in stores, and via iTunes. Also at the end of 2006, Juan Garcia (guitarist/songwriter of Agent Steel) joined the ranks of OBSCENE GESTURE. Juan had been filling in as our second guitarist and he and the band decided to make it official…and who fucking better!?!? Juan will be splitting time with the O.G. and Agent Steel for the time being, and will definitely be involved in the writing process in the near future. |
