THE NEW WAVE OF FRENCH BRUTAL DEATH METAL ACTS CONTINUE INFESTING THE WORLD (MAINLY) THROUGH THE SPANISH LABEL XTREEM MUSIC. ONE OF THEM - KRONOS... "COLOSSAL TITAN STRIFE" WAS WELL PRODUCED, THE SOUND IS FAST BRUTAL AND MEMORIABLE. IT HAS CATCHY ROOTS OF CRYPTOPSY/ KATAKLYSM/ NILE/ VOMITORY. VOCAL (AS USUAL FOR BRUTAL DEATH METAL BAND) - RAW, HATEFUL AND BRUTAL. YOU'LL NOT FIND A MELODIC PARTS OR TRENDY EURO (BLACK/GOTHIC) INFLUENCES, JUST RAPID DEATH METAL BLOODBATH DILLUTED WITH FAST GUITAR SOLOS... NICE TO FEEL AN OLD SCHOOL SPIRIT IN MODERN BRUTAL DEATH METAL. SOMETIME YOU CAN HEAR A PITCHED VOCAL- IT ADDS SOME GRINDCORE ACTION... IN ANY CASES KRONOS LEAVES LISTENER BURNED TO ASHES ... death worship

biography

KRONOS were formed back in the year 1994 and the average age of the band members was between 13-17 years old!! The name of the band is in reference to the titan Cronos, the father of Zeus in greek mythology. The band's style by then was somekind of Heavy Thrash Metal.
After writing some songs, playing shows In local area and experiencing some line-up changed, the band changed Its style into Death Metal and recorded their first demo called "Ourance" in the year 1997. After this, some series of concerts and festivals in the country sharing stage with bands such as: BLOCKHEADS, DEPRAVED, SCARVE, MORTUARY, ELVARON, CARCARIASS... and of course more line-up changes occured until 1999 when they decided to make their style much more brutal!!
In the year 2000, the band did a split demo with NONE DIVINE, which was followed by the recording of the band't first full length album "Titan's Awakening" after more than 7 years of existence. The recording had 12 tracks with a phenomenal production and excellent artwork. This recording secured a deal with french label Warpath Records (ex-Showave) who released this work in October 2001. The feedback about the T.A." album was great with several dozens of favorable reviews in magazines, fanzines and webzines around the world, selling over 2000 copies of the album worldwide.
The band played in lots of concerts in France to promote the album in many different cities and the reaction of the public was magnific which motivated the band to keep on goingMMore concerts in Swiss, Holland of of course In France followed, and the interest on the band was increasing. KRONOS rushed to end the writing of the new album which seems to be already more powerful and better than T.A." ...
In early 2003, the band signs a new record deal for 2 albums with the new Spanish label XTREEM MUSIC. It is managed by Dave Rotten from the band AVULSED. This contract opportunity with the new label created from the ashes of the mythic Death Metal label of the 90's so-called REPULSE RECORDS, shows that KRONOS is from now on ready to go ahead on a new level thanks to the internationalism and the quality of the promotion, as well as to the undeniable professionalism and experience of the label's boss Dave Rotten.
The new album is called "Colossal Titan Strife" and was recorded during August/September 2003 at belgium's CCR studios with Kris Belaen as producer (NO RETURN, ABORTED a.o.). The concept is one more time directed towards the Greek mythology. The album speaks about the fights to death for the world domination and the absolute power opposing the Titans leaded by Cronos against the Olympic Gods leaded by Zeus.
