GERMAN BAND, PLAYS BRUTAL MIX OF OLD SCHOOL DEATH AND NEW BRUTAL SLOW DEATH METAL. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ADDED NOTHING TO THEIR SOUND JUST WELL PLAYED DEATH METAL FOR FANS OF DEMIGOD AND , MAYBE, MORGOTH, BUT NOT FOR ME I NEED MORE SPEED!!!

biography

MISANTHROPIC was brought to life as a project in 1999 by Matze, Thorsten E. and Oliver S., and was originally intended to be called VORTEX. After several musical differences Oliver S. left the band and all threatened to fail. Shortly after, Thorsten G., Steffen G. and Long joined the band, which performed under the name MISANTHROPIC ever since, and immediately contributed to the band with their creativity.
Due to his lack of commitment, MISANTHROPIC parted ways with bassplayer Long shortly after. He was followed by Thorsten G. who also left the band some weeks later, which led to great discontent among its members. But just couple of weeks after, Patrick B. and Erik H. joined and completed the line-up which is the one that last until today.
MISANTHROPIC recorded its first demo in 2002 where the band showed a pretty varied kind of heavy, brutal and melodic Death Metal. The songwriting was an elaborated and well-balanced mixture of melody, aggression and technical skills. The Misanthropes already gained studio and live experience with their former bands (AGATHODAIMON, MIRRORED MIND, AVION and NOCTE OBDUCTA) which secured a great result in their debut recording.
In January 2003 MISANTHROPIC signed a deal with Spanish label Xtreem Music for the release of their debut album "Soulreaver" which was recorded during April and released in July of the same year.
